Obituary of B. Dwight Cheeks

B. Dwight Cheeks, 61 of Talladega, passed away October 21, 2015 at Citizens BMC. The family will receive friends Tuesday, October 27 from 3:30 to 6:00 pm. A memorial service will follow at 6:00 pm at Usrey Funeral Home in Talladega with Dr. Horace Patterson officiating. Funeral services will be Wednesday, October 28, at 1:00 pm at Pink Lily Missionary Baptist Church in Prattville, AL with Pastor Patrick Lucas, Sr. officiating. Mr. Cheeks was a native of Prattville, AL and lived in Talladega for the past 18 years. He was a member of Mt. Canaan Missionary Baptist Church, AKINDELAS FRATERNITY, INC., Alpha Phi Alpha, and was a mason in several lodges during his life. He was retired from The U.S. Forrest Service. He is survived by his wife Beth Cheeks, son Andrew Cheeks, mother Callie Rowe Cheeks, sister Carolyn Cheeks (Oscar) Berry, brother Kevin Cheeks, and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father Willie Cheeks and sister Phelan Bonita Cheeks Steele. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alpha Phi Alpha Scholarship Fund, P.O.
