Obituary of Terry W. Hammonds

Terry W. Hammonds, 65, of Alabaster, passed away Aug. 8, 2017 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, Aug. 12, 2017 at Usrey Funeral Home in Talladega, AL. Dr. Jim Audmuty, Brian Hammonds, and Kyle Studdard will officiate. Burial will follow at Pine Hill Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends for one hour prior to services.

Terry was of the Baptist faith and served in the U.S. Army Reserve, he was also a coal miner for 32 years.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Hugh T.  and Vergie Mae Hammonds; special nephew, Scott Hammonds; and loving sister-in-law, Dian Boykin; and brother-in-law, Donnie Nelson. 

He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Elaine Hammonds; daughter, Beth Hammonds Hollis; sons, Hunter Hammonds (Marta), Adam Hammonds; grandchildren, Daniel Brewer, Dylan Forshee, Karlie Forshee, Macy Hammonds; brothers, Tommy Hammonds, Mike Hammonds (Pat); sister, Debbie Nelson, Phyllis Posey (Billy), Amanda Ellison; mother-in-law, “Granny” Rush; sisters-in-law, Sammie Kay Lutz, Martha Bentley; brother-in-law, Mickey Johnson; and a host of loving nephews and nieces.

Pallbearers will be Brian Hammonds, Kyle Studdard, Justin Lackey, Warren Williams, Daniel Brewer, and Dylan Forshee.
