Roger Dale Smith passed away peacefully in his Munford home on November 13, 2024 where he has been a lifetime resident. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Homewood Acres for over 20 years and retired from US Cast Iron Pipe Foundry in Anniston, AL. Roger is preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Linda Smith; parents, Dan and Mary Lois Smith; brothers, Tony and Danny Smith; sister, Stacy Smith; and great grandchildren, Evan James, Braylen and Brayleigh Menges. He is survived by his children, Martha (Keith) Warren, Roger (Kristie) Smith, Michael (Dede) Smith, Tommy Smith, and Scottie Smith; grandchildren, Kesha (Casey) Guess, Devin (Josie) Womack, Christopher (Dakota) Smith, Destry Warren, Jellisa (Steven Cockrell) Smith, Cassidy (Spencer) Little, and Kattie (Kevin) Hale; great grandchildren, Connor Hayes, Aaron Menges, Charlie Wright, Aurora Smith, Cayden Guess, Sophia Guess, Waylon Hale, and Michael Cash Hale; three brothers, three sisters; as well as other extended family. Roger enjoyed his time fishing and making memories with his family. He was a proud and dedicated husband, father, and pawpaw. Mr. Smith’s funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, November 16, 2024 at Usrey Funeral Home in Talladega. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. Usrey Funeral Home of Talladega is directing the service.
